Schedule for WTMG Event in Bangkok and Cambodia for WTMG Event in Bangkok and Cambodia

As we approach the upcoming World Travel Media Guild event in Bangkok, Cambodia and optional visit to Vietnam, the final schedule for Cambodia is taking shape. We begin our adventure at the wonderful Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel ( in exotic Bangkok, which has graciously offered their hospitality to those attending the event (Note: a separate story about the hotel is available on this website).

Although the final program is subject to change up to the last minute, here is the current schedule of events.

Itinerary in details

Day 1/ 18 May, 17 (Thu): Bangkok – Battambang, Cambodia.
07:00-08:00: Pick up from the Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel in Bangkok (
08:00-11:00: Transfer from Bangkok to Poipet (Thailand/Cambodia Border)
11:00-12:30: Take time to cross Thailand border and get Cambodia Visa (USD30/pax excluded) upon arrival
12:30-14:00: Transfer 30 minutes to Svay Sisophon City for lunch, and we take 1 hour for lunch break
14:00-15:00: Transfer to Battambang City
15:00-15:30: Check in at hotel
15:30-18:00: Take a sightseeing to visit the main market in Battamang, Pre-Angkor temple of Banoon, Ancient house, and ride the bamboo transfer through the rice paddies to view the sunset.
18:00-18:30: Return to hotel and get refreshment for dinner
19:30-21:00: Dinner at local restaurant and return to hotel for overnight

Day 2/ 19 May, 17 (Fri): Battambang – Siem Reap
07:00-08:00: Breakfast at hotel and check-out
08:00-10:00: Transfer from Battambang to Siem Reap
10:00-12:00: Take two hours to get Siem Reap orientation, local main shrine and visit the Angkor National Museum
12:00-13:00: Lunch breakfast at local restaurant (we still looking for sponsor)
13:00-14:00: Check-in at hotel, meet the sales team from hotel and take a quick shooting
14:00-18:30: Take village walking tour that sponsor by Cambodia Farm Tours, ( transfer from your hotel to the village, visit the local market, walk through the village to visit daily activities of villagers, stop to interact with family, tasting local fruit/coconut/local rice whisky, take an ox-cart ride to the eco home from Cambodia Farm Tours where you will be welcomed by the host, enjoy the cocktail, view the sunset and dinner will be provided in the eco home.

Day 3/ 20 May, 17 (Sat): Siem Reap – Angkor Highlighted Temples
05:00-06:30: Early wake up and transfer to Angkor Wat temple where you will view the sunrise and find the best sport for picture/shooting
06:30-07:30: After sunrise then we straightaway to visit the Angkor Temple
07:30-08:00: Transfer to some quiet place where stop to have breakfast box
08:00-12:00: Take a whole morning visit to Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom of Victoria Gate, Terrace of Elephant, Phimeanakas, Baphoun, and Bayon temples. Transfer to local restaurant for lunch
12:00-13:00: Lunch break
13:00-18:00: Visit some more important temple, Preah Khan, Chao Srey Vibol and end the day with Bakong Temple, return to hotel
18:00-19:00: Get refreshment at hotel, meet the sales team from hotel and take a quick shooting

Day 4/ 21 May, 17 (Sun): Siem Reap – Saem City of Preah Vihea Province
06:00-06:30: Check out from your hotel and pick up breakfast box and heading out to other city in the northern of Cambodia
06:30-07:30: Transfer from Siem Reap to Boeng Melea temple, one of the most ruin temples in Cambodia
07:30-08:15: Spend 45 minutes to visit this Beong Melea temple, full of tree and roots, very ruin and quiet good to be earlier than others
08:15-08:45: Breakfast box break
08:45-09:30: Transfer from Beong Melea temple to Koh Ker temples
09:30-11:30: Spend two hours to discovery all the temples in Koh Ker, it was the capital of one of the kings in Angkor Era
11:30-13:00: Transfer from Koh Ker to Saem, which is very small city of Preah Preah Province close to Thailand.
13:00-14:30: Check-in at hotel, refreshment, meets the sales team from hotel and take picture/shooting the hotel
14:30-18:00: Take a short driving 30minutes to Preah Vihea temple, and spend time to visit, picture until the temple close and return to hotel.
18:00-19:00: Dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 5/ 22 May, 17 (Mon): Saem – Laos Border – Stung Treng – Kratie
07:00-08:00: Check-out and breakfast
08:00-13:00: We will travel to Stung Treng one of the provinces in Cambodia but it is located very north that shared border with Laos. On the way we will stop to visit the Sopheakmit Water of Mekong River, and stop have lunch in Stung Treng town.
13:00-16:00: We travel from Stung Treng to Kratie, down street road along the Mekong River and stop to take a boat ride to visit the Mekong Dolphin in Preak Kampi. Then continue to have dinner and overnight in Kratie town.
16:00-17:00: Check-in at hotel. Meets sales team from hotel, take picture of hotel, take a walk along the river back to see the daily life in the late afternoon before we have dinner

Day 6/ 23 May, 17 (Tue): Kratie – Kampog Cham – Phnom Penh
07:00-08:00: Breakfast at the hotel
08:00-11:00: Travel from Kratie to Kampong Cham city, on the way we will stop to visit the rubber plantation and factory
11:00-13:00: Continue to travel to Phnom Penh, quick stop at spider market on the way
13:00-14:00: Lunch at local restaurant and check-in at hotel, meets sales team from hotel and take pictures/shooting hotel.
16:00-18:00: Meeting with Tourism Board of Cambodia, venue at Ministry of Tourism Office
18:00-19:00: Dinner at local restaurant

Accommodation: Garden City Hotel in Phnnom Penh

Day 7/ 24 May, 17 (Wed): Phnom Penh – City Tour & Departure
07:00-08:00: Breakfast at the hotel
09:00-12:00: Visit the all different sites in Phnom Penh, Wat Phnom, Central Market, Royal Palace, National Museum
12:00-13:00: Lunch at local restaurant
13:00-18:00: Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Chheoung Ek Killing Field, Russian Market, River Front, and sunset Mekong River Boat
18:00 onward transfers to airport for departure, or you continue the trip in Cambodia on your own.
